TOP 10 Black Hat Hacker and their story

+ Kevin Mitnick

Kevin mitnick
Kevin David Mitnick (born on August 6, 1963) is an American computer security consultant, author, and hacker. In the late 20th century, he was convicted of various computer- and communications-related crimes. At the time of his arrest, he was the most-wanted computer criminal in the United States. Mitnick gained unauthorized access to his first computer network in 1979, at 16, when a friend gave him the phone number for the Ark, the computer system Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) used for developing their RSTS/E operating system software. He broke into DEC’s computer network and copied their software, a crime he was charged with and convicted of in 1988.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Mitnick gained unauthorized access to dozens of computer networks while he was a fugitive. He used cloned cellular phones to hide his location and, among other things, copied valuable proprietary software from some of the country’s largest cellular telephone and computer companies. Mitnick also intercepted and stole computer passwords, altered computer networks, and broke into and read private e-mail.

1. Gary McKinnon

Gary McKinnon
In 2002, an exceptionally odd message appeared on a US  Army computer screen: “Your security system is crap,” it read. “I am Solo. I will continue to disrupt at the highest levels.” It was later identified as the work of Scottish systems administrator, Gary McKinnon.
McKinnon suffers from Asperger’s syndrome, which is the least severe form of autism. The symptoms of Asperger’s syndrome certainly match Gary’s actions: that is, highly intelligent with an exceptional understanding of complex systems. Though sufferers often have difficulty reading social cues and acknowledging the impact of their often-obsessive behavior, they tend to be geniuses in one particular subject. For Gary, it was computers.
Gary has been accused of executing the largest ever hack of United States government computer networks — including Army, Air Force, Navy and NASA systems. The court had recommended that McKinnon be apprehended to the United States to face charges of illegally accessing 97 computers, causing a total of $700,000 in damage. Even more interesting are McKinnon’s motives for the large scale hackings, which he claims were in search of information on UFOs. He believed the US government was hiding such information in its military computers.

2. Jonathan James (c0mrade)

Jonathan James (c0mrade)
Jonathan James, 16-year-old black hat hacker, became the first juvenile imprisoned for cybercrime in the United States. James gained his notoriety by implementing a series of successful intrusions into various systems. At an amazingly young age of 15, James specialized in hacking high-profile government systems such as NASA and the Department of Defense. He was reported to have stolen software worth over $1.7 million. He also hacked into the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and intercepted over 3,000 highly secretive messages passing to and from the DTRA employees, while collecting many usernames and passwords.
On May 18, 2008, at the age of 25, James committed suicide using a gun. The words in his suicide note provide some insight into this obviously brilliant but troubled youth who thought he would be a scapegoat and blamed for cyber crimes he did not commit: “I have no faith in the ‘justice’ system. Perhaps my actions today, and this letter, will send a stronger message to the public. Either way, I have lost control over this situation, and this is my only way to regain control.”

3.George Hotz

George Hotz
The name of the acclaimed jailbreak artist, George Hotz, will forever be associated with the April 2011 PlayStation breach. Being one of the first hackers ever to jailbreak the Sony PlayStation 3, Hotz found himself in the midst of a very relentless, public and messy court battle with Sony – perhaps worsened by Hotz’s public release of his jail breaking methods. In a stated retaliation to Sony’s gap of the unstated rules of jail breaking – never prosecute – the hacker group Anonymous attacked Sony in what would be the dubbed as the most costly security break of all time to date.
Hackers broke into the PlayStation Network and stole personal information of some 77 million users. However, Hotz denied any responsibility for the attack, and added “Running homebrew and exploring security on your devices is cool; hacking into someone else’s server and stealing databases of user info. is not cool.”

OnePlus One Ban Lifted

OnePlus One Ban Lifted by High Court in India; Brands Cyanogen as ‘Villain’

OnePlus has been granted a breather by the Delhi High Court, which has lifted the ban imposed by the same court on December 16th. A bench headed by Justice Pradeep Nandrajog set aside the single judge’s order restraining Chinese phonemaker Shenzhen OnePlus Technology Co Ltd from selling its mobiles on the plea of Micromax, which had alleged that OnePlus is infringing on the exclusive deal it had signed with Cyanogen in September 2014.
oneplus-cyanogen
The same single judge has now been asked to hear the case afresh as the bench felt that it was not a case for grant of an ad-interim injunction. The meat of the decision lies in the fact that neither OnePlus nor Micromax eats into the territory of the other.
The bench observed it was not proper of the single judge to finally decide the application without giving the parties time to file their pleadings. OnePlus was not allowed to file its response to the case filed by Micromax. Over the past week, OnePlus had hired senior lawyer, Mr. Kapil Sibal as its attorney to fight the case, who had argued that OnePlus was not given fair time to file its appeal and there are lot of points missed by Micromax while filing the case.

Auto Expo: BMW Unveils Gorgeous i8; Launch This Year; Pics & Details

The BMW pavilion at the Expo showcased a car many of you might have seen in the Hollywood action film ‘Mission Impossible 4′. The BMW i8 is being touted as the “most progressive sports car of present time,” and it might well be. Or is it?
 BMW-i8-pics-india-front
The i8 features a plug-in hybrid system, which, BMW claims, combines the benefits of an electric motor and a petrol engine into an extraordinary driving experience. You get far better fuel efficiency as well as verve in the same package. Now, anybody worth his wheels will know that moderation and performance aren’t happy bedmates. So, how this new Bimmer, the i8, made them sleep together, happily?
The ‘LifeDrive’ vehicle architecture, with which the i8 is distilled with, significantly contributes towards weight reduction. It includes the ‘Life’ module comprising passenger cell made of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and the ‘Drive’ module comprising an aluminium frame for the combustion engine and electric motor, the battery pack and the suspension. Meaning, the engine/s of the i8 has less weight to push about.

The engine/s – 131 bhp electric drive tied to the front axle. The rear is driven by the TwinPower Turbo 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder petrol good for 231 bhp. Add them up together and you get a thrilling 362 bhp worth of whack capable of launching the 1490 kg of i8 and you from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.4 secs. That’s rocketry; not automobile!

The smart chips and bytes in the i8 also mean that the car uses the most efficient drive depending on the accelerator pedal input. You consume less (40 kmpl) therefore you poop less (59 gram carbon/km). It’s a pity this technology is not widely used.
The geeky gorgeous BMW i8 will be launched in India as a CBU by the end of 2014.

20 Things That Mentally Strong People Don’t Do

20 Things That Mentally Strong People Don’t Do
I often write about the things I believe we all should be doing, trying or experimenting with in order to maximize our success and happiness. However, it’s not always the things we do that make the biggest difference in our lives; it’s often the things we avoid doing that have the biggest effect. As human beings, we have a strong aversion to not doing; we feel that in order to produce results, there must be an initial action.
However, because we are almost always doing something, piling on more and more often has a negative effect, rather than a positive one. Among the mentally strong, there are several actions that are avoided in order to produce the greatest benefit in the shortest period of time.
These actions are those that the mentally strong avoid, and that we should consider adapting as our own:

1. Dwelling On The Past

Mentally strong individuals focus on the present moment and on the near future. They understand that the past is out of our control and the far future is about as predictable as the weather this winter.

2. Remaining In Their Comfort Zone

The comfort zone is a dangerous place, a dark abyss where anyone who remains there for too long loses his or herself entirely. Staying within your comfort zone is giving up on life.

3. Not Listening To The Opinions Of Others

Only the foolish believe themselves to be sufficient in all regards. When it comes to brainstorming, ideas can’t so much be forced as they can be caught. A good idea is a good idea, regardless of whether or not you came up with it. Don’t let your ego get the better of you; if someone has great advice to give, take it.

4. Avoiding Change

What the mentally strong understand that the mentally weak do not is that change is unavoidable. Trying to avoid the inevitable is pointless. Therefore, trying to avoid change is pointless; it’s a mere waste of time and energy.

5. Keeping A Closed Mind

You don’t know everything. Even the things you believe yourself to know are likely to not be entirely true. If you keep a closed mind, you are preventing yourself from learning new material. If you stop learning, you stop living.

6. Letting Others Make Decisions For Them

Only you should be making your own decisions; you can’t allow others to make them for you. All this does is shift the responsibility from you to someone else, but the only person failing in the end is you. If you don’t have the courage to fail, then you don’t have the courage to succeed.

7. Getting Jealous Over The Successes Of Others

When others succeed, you should be happy. If they can do it, so can you. The success of others does not, in any way, lessen the chances of you succeeding. If anything, it should motivate you to keep pushing forward.

8. Thinking About The High Possibility Of Failure

Our thoughts control our perspective; our perspective controls our results. The mentally strong understand this and use this to their advantage. There’s always the chance you may fail, but as long as there is the chance you may succeed, it’s worth trying.

9. Feeling Sorry For Themselves

Sh*t happens. Life can be hard. People get hurt; others die. Life isn’t all roses and butterflies. You will fall off that horse again and again and again. The question is, are you strong enough to keep getting back on it?

10. Focusing On Their Weaknesses

Although working on our weaknesses does have its benefits, it’s more important to focus on banking on our strengths. The most well-rounded person is not the person that gets the furthest in life. Being average in all regards makes you average. However, mastering a certain skillset or trait will allow you to beat the competition with less effort................

This Smartwatch Needs to Become a Reality

Hungarian product designer Gábor Balogh recently published a project entitled Smartwatch Concept on Behance, where it has become one of the most popular and interesting projects on the site.

Balogh used a watch made by Triwa (with their permission) called the Havana timepiece in the designs for his concept smartwatch. Balogh is not an engineer but a designer and therefore he realizes there would be some technological issues that would arise if this watch was put into production.

Engineering and technological issues aside, this design actually makes us want to buy a smartwatch. With all the current models taking design cues from calculators, a fresh take on a time tested design might just be what consumers have been waiting for.
